Privacy policy

The short version

• We do not sell your data. There is nothing to sell — we collect very little.
• We have no accounts, no logins and no newsletter.
• We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, in aggregate.
• Affiliate links to Amazon carry a tracking tag so purchases are credited to us. Amazon has its own privacy policy, and it applies once you leave this site.
• If you email us or use the contact form, we hold that message so we can reply to it.

Information we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. It records things like the pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, referring site, and whether a buy link was clicked. This is aggregate reporting; we do not use it to identify individual readers, and we do not attempt to.

Google's handling of that data is governed by its own policies. You can opt out across all sites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block analytics with most browser privacy settings and extensions. The site works normally either way.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you type. That message is delivered to our inbox by email and kept only as long as needed to deal with it. We do not add you to any mailing list — there is not one.

The form includes basic anti-spam measures: a hidden field that real readers never see, a check on how long the form took to fill in, and a limit on submissions per IP address per hour. None of these are used to profile you.

Affiliate links

Buy links on this site pass through a redirect on our own domain (/go/) and then on to Amazon with a tracking tag attached. That tag tells Amazon the visit came from us so a qualifying purchase is credited. Amazon may set its own cookies at that point; what it does is covered by Amazon's privacy notice, not this one. What we do not do

• No user accounts, no passwords, no profiles.
• No newsletter and no marketing email.
• No selling, renting or trading of personal data.
• No advertising network trackers or retargeting pixels.
• No comment system collecting personal data.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own for advertising or profiling. Google Analytics may set cookies to distinguish between visits, and Amazon may set cookies once you follow a buy link and land on its site. Browser settings and privacy extensions can block both.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices

• Block or opt out of analytics using the tools above.
• Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@seedandsprig.com. In practice this is almost always just an email you sent us.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. Email us and we will do what the law requires.

Third parties involved

• Vercel — hosting. Standard server logs apply.
• Google Analytics — aggregate traffic measurement.
• Microsoft (Graph) — delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
• Amazon — the retailer buy links go to, once you leave this site.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be described rather than quietly edited in, which is the same standard we apply to our editorial corrections.
